ABBA Really Heals Part 4. Make the Great Exchange and Stand Firm in Your Liberty!

ABBA REALLY HEALS
MAKE THE GREAT EXCHANGE AND STAND FIRM IN YOUR LIBERTY (PART 4)

Copyrighted by Elder Dorn Wheatley Walker (Author of “Life After Loss: A Journey Into Wholeness”).

In Part 3, we focused on unmasking the emotional pain that was weighing us down during the holidays. We uncovered the root cause of the emotional pain, we faced it and confronted the hurts head on. Also, we identified five main areas of loss that could result in emotional pain. These areas are the loss of: (1) A loved one, (2) Self Esteem, (3) Peace, (4) Integrity, and (5) A right standing with God. We answered some simple questions regarding our true feelings toward each of these areas and we circled the corresponding negative words or feelings within each category of emotional pain. We then drew a cross on a sheet of paper and took every negative word and placed it on the cross. This exercise reminded us of Isaiah 53:4 and 5 that tell us that Jesus has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weakness and distressed) on the cross and with the stripes that wounded Him, we are healed and made whole (SEE PART 3).

It is important for us to believe that Jesus Christ died so that we might live. We don’t have to cope with our emotional pain or live helplessly. We don’t have to give up and commit suicide or become lame and paralyzed. We can move forward and have a future that in unhindered by our past. Jesus Christ died for us so that we could be healed, whole, and experience an abundant life. (AMEN! Abba Really Heals! We must believe this, receive it and walk in it! This can be your reality if you really allow Abba to take hold of every emotional pain.)

We moved through Thanksgiving and Christmas and as we approach the end of the year, perhaps you may be thinking about how you started 2015 with your loved one who is no longer here. You may also think about how your life was a little happier in the beginning of the year or how you may have been closer to God early in the year. Some may see the end of this year as just another year of feeling helpless or how the stresses of this year produced crippling emotions. Whatever the negative thought, know that you do not have to remain in this helpless position because when we are weak and helpless is truly when we give God permission to be our strength. We deny ourselves and accept Him. We place our human strength under God’s control and we allow Him to reward us with a life filled with His abundant grace, favor, good understanding and high esteem in the sight of God and man (See Proverbs 3:4 in the Amplified Bible). We truly humble ourselves and begin to immerse ourselves in God’s mercy so that He can touch us in those areas where we need Him the most.

My prayer is that you would give God an opportunity to be the strength of your life. What do you have to lose? I invite you to say the prayer of salvation with me. Our salvation must be settled and complete. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Romans 10:9 and 10 tell us that if we confess with our mouth, the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, then we are saved. Romans 10:13 tells us that “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Our salvation is synonymous with our healing and wholeness.

Jesus took on every burden so that we would not have to carry any burden. Let the healing process begin and allow the Spirit of the living God to fully resurrect you. Allow God to give you a new life of hope and healing. Let go of the past pain and receive today’s blessings. Come out of your tomb of despair and hopelessness.

These things must be settled. Know that:
(1) God wants to heal you. Our hearts should be at peace. We are not created to carry the emotional pain and burdens that sometimes overwhelms our lives.

(2) Do you want to be healed? We must want to be healed. Don’t hold on to your emotional pain. Release it to God. Don’t become codependent with your hurt or with everything that surrounds the hurts.

(3) The Word of God must be settled in our lives. We must make God real to us by studying who He is. We must know God personally. God provided us with a book of promises and wisdom. His Book fully explains who He is.

(4) We are powerless without God. We must run to Jesus’ feet or learn to stay at His feet for daily renewal and strength.

As we end this series of Abba really heals, we must ask ourselves—REALLY—who is Abba? Then we must “exchange all our emotional pain and hurts for Abba. Abba is our source Father who loves us and who truly cares for us. Let us make the great exchange. Abba is :

Jesus (Matthew 1:21)
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6)
Prince of Life (Acts 3:15)
Lord God Almighty (Revelations 15:3)
Word of Life (1 John 1:1)
Author and Finisher of our Faith ( Hebrews 12:2)
Shepherd and Bishop (I Peter 2:25)
Messiah (John 1:41)
Lord God Omnipotent (Revelations 19:6)
The Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25)
El Shaddai – the all sufficient God (Genesis 49:25)
Jehovah Rophe—Our Healer (Exodus 15:26)
Jehovah Shalom – Our Peace (Judges 6:23)
Jehovah Shamar—He is always there (Ezekiel 48:35)

Hold on to your healing by burying yourself in who God is. Allow God to bless you with His promise of Healing. Guess what? Abba Really Heals! Receive Him in Jesus’ Name. I pray that this 4 part series was helpful during the holiday season. God bless you.

ABBA REALLY HEALS! PART 2

ABBA REALLY HEALS!
(Unresolved emotional pain can be dangerous)
(Part 2) Copyrighted by Elder Dorn J.B. Walker

As I continue with Part 2, I am repeating my concern that as some are preparing for precious family times and elaborate menus and décor, the emotions of others are beginning to spiral down. This is why I am stirred to write to all who would read and receive comfort during this difficult time.

As I think of my own emotional healing, I know that Abba really heals. (Father God is truly our Source of Healing and Wholeness). He healed me and I am His Ambassador; fully persuaded and determined to represent Him—He is the Healer and the Great Physician over all of our cares, brokenness, burdens, worries, issues, and stress; no matter how deep the pain.

Part I of this BLOG encourages us to recount our own story of brokenness. Take your time as you pen it in your diary or where ever you choose. Be real in expressing your emotions because healing begins when we admit that we cannot in our own strength put the pieces back together again. I also stated that before I could fully come to grips with my need to be healed, I had to fully acknowledge my total brokenness and I had to fully surrender to the fact that I was weak and helpless and could not do a thing about it. This is the place where new life begins because we now give God the opportunity to come into our lives and point us to “Wholeness”. Remember God is the Healer and the Great Physician. However, the only way to God is through His Son Jesus the Christ. I encourage you to give Jesus an opportunity to come into your life right now. Acts 2:21 says that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life, this is the beginning of acknowledging Him as the real and only healer. Some of you may say: Well, I have already accepted Jesus into my life but, I have some serious emotional hurts. Welcome to Part 2! This section is critical because it speaks of the fact that “Superficial Christianity can be dangerous”. The reality is that we hurt over the loss of our loved ones because we miss them so much. We were connected to them for a length of time and we had a special relationship with them. However, if we accept Jesus Christ and do not have a personal relationship with Him, we will find ourselves with a superficial understanding of God and never experiencing His delivering power. We must take the time to know God personally.

For example, some may quote short and easy phrases when asked about their well-being–by saying “I’m blessed and highly favored” or I am blessed by the best”. This is all good and I truly believe in prophesying over our lives. However, true healing shows up when we are real with God and ourselves and when we have a personal intimacy and relationship with the One who heals. Quick and easy quotes may only serve as band aids to cover up the real turmoil that is still occurring in our lives. If we don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ we will find ourselves pretending to be a victorious Christian, without understanding what it really means to have victory in our lives.

God showed me that many people are spiritual widows or spiritual widowers. These are people who are in a complete broken state. Complete brokenness can be the result of the loss of a loved one, loss of self-esteem, loss of integrity, loss of peace or perhaps the loss of a right standing with God. The emotions of a spiritual widow as well as a traditional widow have the same effect upon us. We often feel paralyzed and unable to move forward with life. With a full understanding of God, we can move forward because He makes all things possible in our lives.

Isaiah 33:6 says that wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of our times and the strength of our salvation. We must allow ourselves to grow both in the wisdom and knowledge of God because “Unresolved emotional pain will become dangerous”. While going through emotional hurts, we become vulnerable and an open prey to the enemy who wants us to fall into deeper depression that may cause all types of sinful behaviors and turmoil in our lives. I Peter 5:8 tells us to be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour. If we don’t take the time to grow closer to God, we may fall so low that we find ourselves dying spiritually. This would be a greater problem. So please don’t allow yourself to die spiritually.

In summary, each loss in our lives has the potential to result in further chaos and turmoil if it is not identified, controlled, and healed. If you find yourself without a true sense of direction or focus in your life because of a loss or brokenness you must make a choice. Imagine yourself in a car driving into the land of despair. You can continue to drive the car further into despair or you can stop and park until you determine how to find hope. If you can relate to being in this position, I recommend that you stop the car and park until you determine how to find hope. Cry out to God who brings hope and comfort. Stay tuned for Part III on the subject: Defining the Emotional Pain and Naming Our Enemies.

THE AMBASSADOR’S CONFESSION
(Hebrews 4:14)

I AM A MANIFESTED SON OF GOD; AND IF A SON, THEN AN HEIR AND A JOINT HEIR WITH JESUS CHRIST! JESUS CHRIST WASHED ME FROM MY SINS BY HIS OWN BLOOD, AND HAS MADE ME A KING AND A PRIEST UNTO HIS GOD AND FATHER. IN GOD’S KINGDOM, I AM MORE THAN A CONQUEROR. I AM CHRIST’S AMBASSADOR!
(Rom. 8, II Corinth 6, Gal. 4, I John 3, Rev. 1, II Corinth. 5, Eph. 6:20)

I AM ABRAHAM’S SEED. I AM BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING! I STOPPED THE CURSE. THE CURSE HAS TO CEASE BECAUSE CHRIST HAS REDEEMED ME FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW. I HAVE ERADICATED POVERTY AND LACK, SICKNESS AND DISEASE, AND SPIRITUAL DEATH IN MY LIFE. I AM A DESTROYER OF THE WORKS OF THE devil. satan IS UNDER MY FEET. I HAVE THE VICTORY THROUGH CHRIST JESUS! I AM BLESSED COMING IN AND BLESSED GOING OUT. I AM BLESSED IN THE CITY AND BLESSED IN THE FIELD. EVERYTHING I PUT MY HANDS TO IS BLESSED. I AM THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL, ABOVE ONLY AND NOT BENEATH. I LEND TO MANY NATIONS AND I BORROW FROM NONE.
(Gal. 3, Gen. 22:17-18, Deut. 28, I John 3, Rom. 16, I Corinth. 15, Eph. 1)

I ENFORCE GOD’S AUTHORITY HERE ON EARTH! JESUS GAVE ME THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM. WITH THESE KEYS, I BIND EVERY SPIRIT CONTRARY TO THE SPIRIT OF GOD FROM MANIFESTING, OPERATING, SPEAKING OR COMING AGAINST ME. I BELIEVE IN AND LOOSE THE IMMEASURABLE, UNLIMITED, AND SURPASSING GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER IN AND FOR ME. THIS SAME POWER RESURRECTED JESUS FROM THE DEAD AND SEATED HIM AT GOD’S RIGHT HAND–FAR ABOVE ALL PRINCIPALITY, POWER, MIGHT, AND DOMINION AND EVERY NAME THAT IS NAMED NOT ONLY IN THIS WORLD BUT IN THAT WHICH IS TO COME. I HAVE BEEN RAISED WITH CHRIST. CHRIST, WHO IS MY LIFE, HAS APPEARED IN ME. THEREFORE, I APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY! GOD HAS GIRDED ME WITH HIS STRENGTH AND MADE MY WAY PERFECT. HE HAS BROUGHT ME FORTH INTO A L–A–R–G–E, SPACIOUS PLACE. GOD IS MY FORTRESS AND MY DELIVERER. HE HAS MADE ME A DELIVERER.
I PURSUE MY ENEMIES UNTIL I OVERTAKE THEM ALL.
(Luke 10:19, Matt. 28, Matt. 16, Eph. 1, Col. 3, Rom. 6, Psalm 18)

I AM THE MEEK OF THE EARTH. THEREFORE, I WILL INHERIT THE EARTH. I ASKED OF THE LORD AND HE HAS PROMISED TO GIVE ME THE HEATHENS FOR MY INHERITANCE AND THE UTMOST PARTS OF THE EARTH FOR MY POSSESSION. I HAVE FOUND MY TREASURE IN THIS LIFE! THEREFORE, I SELL ALL TO WORK IN MY FIELD OF INHERITANCE.
(Psalm 2, Psalm 18, Matt. 5, Matt.13)

I DEMONSTRATE MY LOVE FOR YOU, GOD–WITH A-L-L MY HEART, A-L-L MY SOUL, A-L-L MY MIND AND A-L-L MY STRENGTH; BY YOUR LOVE, I LOVE MY NEIGHBOR AS MYSELF.
I WILL BLESS THE LORD AT ALL TIMES AND HIS PRAISE SHALL CONTINUALLY BE IN MY MOUTH. OH MAGNIFY THE LORD WITH ME AND LET US EXALT HIS NAME TOGETHER.
MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD ALL YOU LANDS! SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS! COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH SINGING! KNOW THAT THE LORD IS GOD! IT IS HE WHO MADE US, NOT WE OURSELVES. WE ARE HIS PEOPLE AND THE SHEEP OF HIS PASTURE. GOD, I ENTER INTO YOUR GATES WITH THANKSGIVING AND INTO YOUR COURTS WITH THE HIGHEST PRAISE!
I GIVE THANKS TO YOU LORD AND I PRAISE YOUR NAME. FOR YOU ARE GOOD; YOUR MERCY AND LOVE ARE EVERLASTING; YOUR FAITHFULNESS AND TRUTH ENDURE TO ALL GENERATIONS…

TRUE WORSHIP? THAT’S WHAT THE FATHER DESIRES. (by Elder Dorn J.B. Walker)

© Elder Dorn J.B. Walker
TRUE WORSHIP? THAT’S WHAT THE FATHER DESIRES.

The hour has come…REALLY? How did we miss it? —It came more than 2,000 years ago when Jesus arrived on the scene. ….OH! Well, where are we? The Father is still seeking us….are we there yet–In the place that God calls true worship?

Have you ever wondered why John 4:23-24 say: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him MUST worship Him in spirit and in truth. What is the WORD talking about? We are living in a world where there is so much worship going on– BUT OF WHAT AND OF WHOM…. There are American Idols, self-Idols, friend Idols, spouse Idols, man Idols, job Idols, money Idols, social media Idols —you get the point. Where are the God worshippers—the true ones? When we truly worship God, He becomes the center of our attention and focus in life.

Worship is not just how we respond to songs and the music we sing and play. It is not just how we raise our hands or lower our hands. It is not just the way we look up to heaven or how tightly we close our eyes or lift our voices. Worship is a direct manifestation of our personal intimate relationship and fellowship with God. We must first have a heart and passion for God. Our hearts must become passionately desperate for God to commune with us. Then, we must learn how important it is to take time out to position ourselves with God on a daily basis—24/7 and 7/24..second by second and minute by minute—as we continue this posture of connection with our Father. But that takes all my time—That’s the point. “He wants it all”.

Today, individuals worship many things. As believers in God’s Kingdom, we must direct our worship to the Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth. Exodus 20:5 and Exodus 34:14 declare that God is Jealous and His name is JEALOUS. Jealous God is mentioned in many other scriptures such as Deuteronomy 4:24, Deuteronomy 5:9, Deuteronomy 6:15, Joshua 24:19, and Nahum 1:2.

Let’s take a Selah moment [pause and calmly think about it]. This is what we worship:
(1) Everything that we are committed and devoted to;
(2) Whatever we are willing to live for and whatever we would die for;
(3) Whatever we can never live without;
(4) Whatever we love with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and are willing to sacrifice our entire
life for—including our time, alms, gifts, the things we own, our money etc…
(5) Whatever we lay down our lives for.

God, the Father, desires true worship because He wants to fellowship with us. He is jealous over His creation and He really wants to be close to us. How many of us awaken daily with a passion and a burning desire to commune with the Almighty God? I am referring to communing with Him right there in your closet, on your bedroom floor–Totally away from the voices and distractions of others. This may be really hard for the busybody to fathom. Who can I help now? What can I fix? What is your problem—tell me sweetie—it’s ok. Who fixes us? How do we stay fixed? Remember, God is Jealous—we can never be God to anyone else—One of the greatest things we can do for someone we desire to help, is to get out of the way and let God finish the work He started with His creation. We are all wrecks waiting to happen without moment by moment fellowship with our Father God who made us in His image and in His likeness? He is patiently waiting to commune with us on a spiritual level. He wants true worship.

In John 4:23, the word “true” in the Greek is “alethinos (pronounced– al-ay-thee-nos). This word is used to describe God’s worshippers. Here, the word true is used as an adjective and signifies being “real”, “ideal”, and genuine. So God is saying: My worshippers must be real, ideal, and genuine. Ironically or non-ironically (are these two words allowed in the same sentence?—it is the best way to describe the situation), this same Greek word “Alethinos is used to describe “God”. For example:

John 7:28 states: “Then cried Jesus in the temple as He taught, saying Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is TRUE whom ye know not”. (KJV)

John 17:3 says: “And this is eternal life: [It means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only TRUE and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent”. (Amplified)

I Thessalonians 1:9 “For they themselves volunteer testimony concerning us, telling what an entrance we had among you, and how you turned to God from [your] idols to serve a God who is alive and TRUE and genuine”. (Amplified)

Revelation 6:10 says: “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and TRUE, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” (KJV)

Clearly, God fulfills the meaning of His name. He is the true God and He is distinctively different from all other gods—(false gods). He is also assuring us that He is true to His utterances—He cannot lie. In essence, God wants us to know that He means what He says and He says what He means.

I John 5:20 also shows that the same Greek word (TRUE) speaks of the purpose of Jesus Christ. “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is TRUE, and we are in Him who is TRUE, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (KJV)

Therefore, I have summarized that Alethinos (TRUE) defines the relationship of the conception to the thing to which it corresponds. In other words—the one who is made understands the One by whom he is made and he clearly, automatically, and by design responds out of this same character to the Creator in a true, real, ideal, and genuine form of worship. This is all the worshipper knows—It comes very natural—to the worshipper—he lives, moves, and has his very being in God. He knows that “to worship God we live and we live to worship God”. Just as God declares—Be ye holy as I am holy—He is also saying “worship me and serve me truly because IAM TRUE—Amen!

When we show no dependency on God or when we don’t sense a hunger for God, more than likely, our flesh is controlling us. When this occurs, we must fast the things of the flesh to bring it into humility. (One of my favorite sayings is: “Fasting feeds our hunger for God”). We deny the carnal and feed the spiritual”

Then, how do we prepare our hearts for TRUE worship?
(1) Staying Humble, Humble, and Humble a hundred times over. Humility is the key word. As we humble
ourselves before God and allow Him to increase in our lives daily; we begin to experience an unbroken
sweet fellowship with the Father. This is where worship takes place. Humility prevents us from falling
into the same trap that Lucifer fell into;

(2) Having a constant desire to draw near to God and to behold His beauty;

(3) Studying the word of God daily;

(4) Fully obeying the word of God—not by mere talk but by our actions; and

(5) Yielding to the Spirit of God within us.

….TRUE WORSHIP….

Run—-to the Power of God’s Presence! by Elder Dorn J.B. Walker

Copyright Elder Dorn J.B. Walker

A clarion call has gone out to the Church! The trumpet has sounded in Zion and God is telling His people to flee idolatry and run to the power of His Presence! The church, who is the Bride of Christ, has somehow forgotten about the marriage to the bridegroom (Jesus Christ) and has become betrothed to the “wisdom of man” and to other earthly, fleshly carnal desires. This abominable act has caused the church to become an adulterer. And, there is now a great crisis of Idolatry that is causing much deception and a great falling away of the assembling together by many who solely seek salvation, solitude, refuge, and purpose in the power of God through His Son Jesus Christ. We must return to living in accordance to the Spirit of God instead of living in accordance to our fleshly nature–the nature that only leads to death. The good news is that God stands ready to deliver us if we would humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways.

What is Idolatry? Idolatry can be defined as blind or excessive adoration or love toward anything or anyone other than God. To idolize is to regard with unquestioning or excessive admiration or devotion. God’s word is clear concerning Idolatry. His word states that we are to have no other gods before Him, and that we are to try every spirit to see if it is from God—We shall know every spirit by the fruit it bears. Many in the church are troubled about the appointment of the first homosexual Bishop in the Episcopalian Church. But, how many are indignant to the Idolatry that is raging rampart throughout the Body of Christ! This recent appointment merely represents the rising stench from a fruit that is already rotten. We must come to grips with the root cause of our sin that is greatly affecting the Body of Christ and is causing us to become a reproach among the nations.

So what does the word of God say concerning this crisis? God’s word tells us that every believer’s daily confidence is found only in the power of God and not in the wisdom of man or in any earthly carnal desire (I Corinthians 2:5-6 and Psalm 27). This simple truth can indeed incite us to rekindle and to re-ignite our relationship with the almighty God in order to rise from this crisis of spiritual defeat to a place where we experience the victorious life that Jesus Christ paid for by the act of His own death for our sins and by His resurrection that brings us a new and victorious life!

We can find an example of this foundational truth in Psalm 27. The central theme of this chapter is found in verse 4. The amplified version reads “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple”. This verse illustrates how David tapped in to the secret of “his daily confidence” during a time of great crisis and despair. David’s rediscovered confidence victoriously restored him to his rightful position in God. In the latter part of verse 3, David said “in this will I be confident”…. He said one thing have I desired or asked of the Lord that will I seek after is that I may dwell in the house of the Lord. David’s confidence was fully restored when He ran to the Power of God’s presence.

In order to understand more fully the depth of David’s declaration concerning his daily confidence, we must look at the other verses in Psalm 27 and explore the entire history surrounding the writing of this tremendous Psalm of David. Psalm 27 was written during a time when David and his people were destitute while in the dessert wilderness. Yes, David was still King, but he fled his throne with many of his people after his son Absalom tried to dethrone him and take his life. This account is found in II Samuel Chapters 11 through 18. This Psalm was written after David went through and was still going through much mourning and despair. In brief, II Samuel chapters 11 – 18 can be summarized as follows: (I recommend that you read and study these chapters for yourself.) (1) David sinned with Bath Sheba and killed Uriah her husband, (2) Bath Sheba became pregnant with David’s child. The Child became ill and died, (3) David’s son Amnon raped his sister Tamar, (4) the other son Absalom took vengeance and killed Amnon, (5) Absalom rose up and rebelled against His Father David to over throw him from the throne…David gathered up His people and fled because He was afraid of Absalom and the evil that followed him. This was the same King David that killed the bear, the lion and the great philistine Giant Goliath…David’s heart was overwhelmed from his mourning and despair which left him in a state of turmoil and a sense of weariness. His issues began to overtake him and He lost sight of God —Instead, David began to run from a mere man— His own son…II Samuel 17 states that David and His people became hungry, thirsty, and weary, in the wilderness. Not only was there a natural hunger, thirst, weariness, and loss of direction in the wilderness, David also suffered from spiritual hunger and thirst for the righteousness of God and He grew weary of toiling in his own strength which brought him to a spiritual wilderness. However, II Samuel Chapter 17 shows that David came to His senses and he received both natural and spiritual provisions…this was about the time that David wrote Psalms 27. David realized that his confidence was found only as he solely desired to run and return to his first love—the dwelling place of God. He then submitted His life fully to God.

Many have talked about the aforementioned sins of David throughout II Samuel. However, David’s problems actually started before any of these sins manifested…his problem started when he elevated his position of authority above the almighty God and abused his power as king. This is where idolatry and deception began in David’s life. When David came to his senses he declared exuberantly in Psalm 27:1-3 “the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and my foes they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. Then David’s confidence kicked in and he said: one thing have I desired of the lord that will I seek after –is that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty…(sweet attractiveness, the splendor, the holiness, the grace) of the Lord and to inquire in his temple… God then covered David with his supernatural grace as David beheld the beauty of the Lord (Amazingly, Beauty is defined as Grace in the Hebrew–God’s unmerited Favor—the reward that we can’t ever work for….His GRACE is always sufficient for us!) At this moment, David and his people were no longer hungry, thirsty, or weary in the wilderness. David came to the realization that only God could fill his hunger for righteousness–only God could be his strength in his time of weariness and only God could quench His thirst in his dry dessert wilderness. David’s renewal brought him so much confidence in God that II Samuel chapter 18 stated that for the first time David stopped running from man and gathered his people to fight back…He had so much renewed energy that he was ready to fight with the army.

David overcame his sin of Idolatry and Adultery against God as he renewed his relationship in the presence of God. So what Spiritual Provisions are available to us when we run to or return to the Power of God’s Presence? These provisions can be found in Psalm 27 verses 5 through 14. These provisions were available to David when he exuberantly declared them by faith and they are available to us today through our faith in Jesus Christ!

God will hide us in the time of trouble and set us upon a rock

“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”

This rock is Jesus. When my heart is overwhelmed, He leads me to the rock that is higher than I. The name of Jesus is above every name (he is higher than your hurts, your problems and all of your issues)

God lifts up our head and causes us to offer sacrifices of joy and praises unto God.

“And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.”

When God lifts up our head, we do not need validation or approval from any man. Idols are often formed when we seek validation outside of how God sees us. We must love God (only) with all our heart, soul, and mind and we will discover that in his presence there is fullness of Joy and that the joy of the Lord is our strength. We should never place our confidence in the wisdom of any man. One of the great dangers of Idolatry is seen in many churches today that have taken on a “University Style” of fellowship. Members of this style of church sit back in the university of great learning while being taught by so called leaders who have achieved tenure status in the word. These members sit back and take notes never questioning or testing the spirit to see if the word is from God. This practice often leads us to Idolatry, which is an unquestioning, improper excessive admiration to these so-called leaders. It seems as though the crisis in our church today has caused us to create yet another class in society. Like the Young Urban Professionals (Yuppies) and the Black Urban Professionals (Buppies) many have now taken on this new fashion as if the church is now a group of Christian Urban Professionals (Cuppies). But God is saying flee idolatry and RUN to the power of His presence! Do not be deceived by idol worship. The last time I checked the word of God, it stated that we are all the same at the foot of the Cross—the place where we first saw the light. We must return to our first love before it is too late.

Another danger is found as many in the Body of Christ intellectualize the presence of God and react to the offering of sacrifices of joy and praises unto God with mockery. This behavior unknowingly lessens the power of God in our own lives and causes us to continue in a life of defeat. I have heard believers making comments such as “it doesn’t take all that so you need to get out of “la la” land and stop operating in sensationalism”…but God’s word says that in “His presence there is fullness of Joy. I’ve often said that we better leave people alone when it comes to the way they choose to worship and praise God because you never know what God has delivered them from…and sometimes you don’t want to find out—it may blow your mind…I guarantee you that if God delivered you from something horrific…you won’t walk around casually talking about —oh bless the Lord. You too will be sing lalalalala! The oil of joy is fully available in the lala land of God’s presence!

God grants us mercy when we cry out and causes our hearts to yield in His presence

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When you said , “Seek My face,” My heart said to you, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
Let us learn to freely worship God with out approval and hindrances from man. The word of God says that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty. David knew the power of God’s presence and never apologized for the way he worshipped God. David’s act of worship showed His full love for God with all his heart, soul, and mind.

God never hides His face from us and never leaves nor forsakes us.

“Do not hide your face from me; Do not turn your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.

God stand ready, willing and able to deliver us from all our troubles. The power of God’s presence assures us that we are never alone.

God teaches us His way and leads us in a smooth path.

“Teach me your way, Oh Lord, And lead me in a smooth path because of my enemies. Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out violence.”

As false witnesses, false prophets, and leaders run rampant we can know that in the power of God’s presence the Lord will teach us his way and the mere wisdom of man will never deceive us. True Godly leaders should always work together with God in building and empowering God’s people to propel into purpose, movement, and destiny…this is important so that the Gospel of the Kingdom may be preached throughout the entire world. A false leader often posses a controlling spirit which hinders the discovery of individual purpose and robs us of our Godly uniqueness that is vital to advancing the Kingdom of God.

Lastly, in the power of God’s presence, we will learn courageous faith to wait for God as we expect to see His goodness in the land of the living

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed to that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And he shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say on the Lord!”

Hebrews 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Seek His presence and courageously expect the rewards of His goodness in the land of the living!

When we run to God’s presence to seek His face–desiring solely to dwell in the Power of His presence the Lord will reveal His purpose for our lives. Many people have asked –how do you know your purpose…my answer always is– seek his face and stay in His Presence…Behold His beauty and inquire while you are there. Jesus is our ultimate example. He came down from heaven in the form of a mere man leaving his divinity behind. Jesus sought the face of His Father and he inquired in GOD’S presence for instructions…Jesus also faced many enemies and he faced despair…But he learned to wait on his Father as He faced these enemies and as He faced the final despair of the Cross…Paul said that this Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith “for the joy that was set before him He endured the cross.” He always ran to Power of His Father’s presence because this is where he found his strength to fulfill his purpose (in the presence of God there is fullness of Joy). Jesus sought the power of God’s presence until He became the Christ and was anointed to do His Father’s will of becoming Saviour for all mankind. Isaiah 61 says:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance to our God; To comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. There is a great exchange that occurs between lost man and God if we learn to have one desire (to love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind) to seek His face and to run to his presence. We must also know that the Spirit of God is sevenfold as stated in Isaiah 11. Seeking God’s presence makes the supernatural a natural part of our daily lives. The Spirit of the Lord is made up of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, knowledge, and reverential and obedient fear of the Lord.

The Body of Christ must come to grips with the fact that our world is dying and that our society is rapidly deteriorating before our eyes…there are many who are poor and brokenhearted, there are many who are in spiritual and natural captivity and are in darkness in normal prisons and in the prison of their own minds, there are many who are mourning and are in despair. God needs us to take the Gospel of His Kingdom to the world. This Gospel of the Kingdom reveals His BEAUTY (HIS GRACE) and takes away the ashes, it also reveals his OIL OF JOY and takes away the mourning, it reveals the garment of praise (where He lives and stands ready to assist us during every time of trouble ) to take away despair….God spoke through Haggai the prophet as he stated “Is it time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin? Give careful thought to your ways…Go up to the mountain and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored.” As we look around there are churches on almost every corner of our society. What effect are we having on this world? How are we truly advancing the Kingdom of God on Earth as it is in Heaven? Who is running to the Power of God’s Presence to obtain answers for building the Kingdom of God?

Jesus stated in John chapter 14…in my Father’s House there are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am…He further stated when He was questioned by Thomas, “I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE no one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus was saying that He is the Doorway to your room that allows you to come in and worship the Father in the Power of His Presence in Spirit and In Truth…So that you can truly find the Life of an unbroken fellowship with God…a place where you see Him in the beauty of His holiness, a place where we find purpose to assist God in building his Kingdom. Right now let us recommit our lives to God and return to our first love. Let us run now to the Power of God’s Presence. Let us Go up to the mountain to bring down timber to build the house of the Lord….You see the body is in such a crisis…Let us now make a conscious decision to turn away from our sin of Idolatry and Adultery against God. Let us turn away from the Wisdom of Man and our earthly carnal desires and Run to Power of God…Let us exchange all of our burdens now for a time of refreshing….Let us Behold the Beauty of the Lord, His HOLINESS, Splendor, sweet attractiveness, His grace, Let us access the Oil of Joy and put on the garment of praise (the place where God Dwells) and let us inquire in HIS temple and learn of Gods ways and His purpose for our own life.
